Preparation for the Evangelistic Events
Our evangelistic efforts for Project Yucatan for Christ require hours of preparation. The team from Victory Chapel Baptist Church worked with the Yucatan team of Project Yucatan in preparing for our Saturday and Sunday evangelistic events.
Six hundred bags of candy were prepared as gifts for children who attend the puppet shows. Hundreds of bracelets with the colors of the wordless book were prepared. Literature was also stamped and readied for the efforts.
Literature continues to be an essential element of our evangelistic efforts for Project Yucatan. Long after the evangelistic teams leave the pueblos where we minister, the printed page stays behind and continues to be a witness for days, weeks and months.

Learning Spanish
Our current team for Project Yucatan for Christ is from Victory Chapel Baptist Church in South Carolina. We are in Yucatan for evangelistic efforts.

After an initial meeting where we all met together, the Yucatecans and Americans split up in small teams to learn and practice their words and phrases. These sessions turned out to be an interesting time of learning and laughing together! After the Spanish classes we celebrated by eating pizza. Food always helps the learning process!
The team met members of the church in Merida to take a course in basic Spanish words and phrases that they will use while on this trip. The Yucatecan members of Project Yucatan have been taking English classes; therefore, they were able to communicate with the team from Victory Chapel.

Welcome to Project Yuctan for Christ
Today, Pastor Manuel Verde plays a key role in this project. Pastor Manuel understands the value of this effort as he himself is a product of a gospel of John that was left at his house in 1980. Manuel pastors a church and coordinates the field efforts and ministries for PYFC.
Many years later we are still striving to impact Yucatan with the gospels of John as well as through the use of other evangelistic tools. You will notice as you navigate through this blogspot that we use the initials PYFC to refer to Project Yucatan for Christ.
I invite you to read our next blog which will give the history of PYFC. Thanks for your interest in this ministry.
