It was in 1980 that we met Carmen (pictured here at the right) and her husband Manuel by way of a Gospel of John that we left under the front door of their house.
In 1987 the Lord moved us on to another phase of our ministry. The coffee percolator (also visible in the picture) was one of the items that we left at Manuel and Carmen's house at that time.
This week Carmen brought the percolator out to show it to me. I was amazed that it still works after all these years!
But the greater story and cause for rejoicing is that 33 years later after meeting Manuel and Carmen they are still faithful in the Lord's work serving Him on the Yucatan Peninsula.
The Gospel of John we put under their door that day in 1980 cost us .05 cents at the time. That nickel is still yielding fruit and dividends 33 years later! Thank the Lord for I Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."
